The Holsteiner lineage 242 is one of the largest and oldest lineages. It is widespread not only in Germany but also in the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, and Mexico, and is considered one of the most successful show-jumping lineages in the world. The first mare was registered in the studbook at the beginning of the 19th century. Two daughters of Kunigunde (1935) by First, the mare Gernrode by Loretto and the mare Diastolchen by Loretto, are significant for the continuation of this lineage.

In this lineage, you can find licensed stallions such as Cosimo, Locarno, Ahorn, and Liostro, as well as successful sport horses like Bordeaux VDL (D. van Tilburg, BEL) or Crumble (A. Carey, IRL).

Some of the most successful sport horses from this lineage include Graf Gandalf (D. Molin, NED), Taloubet VDL (V. Cincelli, ITA), Cold Play VDL (L. Gonzalez, ARG), Lord Coloubet (J. Grochowski, DEU), Laquero (K. Rüder, DEU), Zoriano K (W. Vinckx, BEL), Chabacon (A. Torres Hernandez, MEX), Rock of Cashel (T. Wachmann, IRL), Campino (P. Wylde, USA), and EIC Daloubet (M. Kühner, AUT).
