Gute Sitte

The founding mare Gute Sitte is responsible for all offspring carrying the suffix "Sitte". She comes from the Belgian mare line BWP Prestatiestam 36. Gute Sitte is a chestnut mare born in 1966, sired by the Hanoverian stallion Grande out of a pure Thoroughbred dam line. Therefore, Gute Sitte had a Thoroughbred blood percentage of over 50%. Her sire Grande is considered a century sire in Germany, and her dam Anisette xx by Zuccarello xx is a Thoroughbred mare from line 13. This bold pairing of a blood mare with a foundation stallion has proven to be a perfect match both in breeding and sport. The mare herself was highly successful in show jumping up to 1.60m. She won, among other achievements, a team bronze medal at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal under Eric Wauters, representing the Belgian team. Since then, the name "Sitte" has been associated with exceptional quality in all major show jumping arenas worldwide.

Even today, numerous offspring of Gute Sitte continue to achieve international success in both sport and breeding. Especially descendants of Ogano Sitte, such as the approved stallion Aganix du Seigneur ridden by Jos Lansink (BEL) or the successful Eganix du Seigneur ridden by Sara Brionne (FRA) up to 1.55m, have excelled. Another approved stallion from this lineage is Vatson Sitte, a son of Cardento, who also shone in top-level sport with victories and placings up to 1.60m. The mare Callas Sitte, ridden by Swiss rider Christina Liebherr, achieved success up to 1.60m and has already produced a similarly successful offspring. Another highly successful sport horse from the Gute Sitte mare line is the gelding Sea Coast Atlantic by Schilling, initially ridden by Belgian rider Gudrun Patteet and now successfully competing at the highest level under the Irish flag.
